Gordian Wins United States Postal Service’s Supplier Performance Award

Greenville, SC – Gordian, the leading provider of facility and construction cost data, software and expertise, announced today it is the winner of the United States Postal Service’s 2016 Supplier Performance Awards Program. Gordian was recognized for superior supply chain management efforts which allowed the Postal Service to more effectively achieve its mission of providing exceptional mail service to the American public.

During the fiscal year of 2016, the Postal Service worked with a supplier base of 17,000. To place the award into context, Gordian is one of only 12 companies to receive recognition this year.

When presenting the award, Postal Service Supply Management VP, Susan Brownell, said, “The focus that these suppliers have placed on continuous improvement has played a significant role in helping the Postal Service deliver high-quality service to its customers.”

Gordian’s relationship with the Postal Service started in 2002 with one regional facility. Since then, the Job Order Contracting program has expanded nationwide. Gordian’s Job Order Contracting solutions enable building and infrastructure owners to complete large numbers of repair, alteration and minor new construction needs projects with a single, competitively awarded contract.

“The United States Postal Service is one of greatest partners Gordian could hope to have,” said William Pollak, CEO, who received the award at the Postal Service’s headquarters on behalf of Gordian. “During the 12 years we have been working together, we have been able to complete thousands of construction projects across the country to repair and improve postal facilities using Job Order Contracting.”

Due to the significant time savings of going through the request for proposal (RFP)/bidding process one time for an indefinite amount of work, the USPS has completed more projects and minimized downtime while keeping facilities operational and safe. Gordian’s solutions have helped the Postal Service save more than $16 million in supply chain costs since 2011.

Pollak added, “This could not have been done without the strong and integrated teams of Gordian and Postal Service professionals across the country. We are honored to receive this award on behalf of the great work these teams have accomplished.”

This is the second time Gordian has received an award from the Postal Service – the last win being the Supplier Excellence Award in 2011.
