2020 challenged and changed us all. It changed how we work together, how we communicate with our friends and family, how we gather, even how we find entertainment. Additionally, the year produced a staggering amount of financial and material need as the economy took a back seat to public health. The relentless difficulty caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing economic fallout demanded that people step up for each other.
Gordian strongly believes we have a responsibility to our employees, our customers and the communities where we do business. The people behind our unmatched data, software and expertise continually raise the bar for our clients; they also represent our vibrant and compassionate culture in the communities where they live. As a Fortive Operating Company, we are united by a shared purpose and values and by our commitment to making an impact on the world.
Gordian participated in Fortive’s 2020 Day of Caring, which encouraged all employees to be involved and give back to their communities. Employees were given 16 hours of paid time off and a variety of ways to be involved locally and virtually throughout Day of Caring, and they used that time well. We’re proud that 444 Gordian employees and family members participated, giving 3,961 hours to more than 304 non-profit organizations nationwide.
Teams at Gordian gave abundantly during Day of Caring events.
Here’s a snapshot of how the team helped out in 2020:
- Partnered with Habitat for Humanity in MA and SC to build homes for thankful families.
- Volunteered almost 1,500 hours to animal rescues and shelters nationwide, including Agave Dogs Rescue in OR, Another Chance Animal Shelter in ME, Greenville Humane Society in SC and Speranza Animal Rescue in PA.
- Volunteered at and donated over 1,425 food items to pantries and food banks nationwide.
- Picked up trash from the coastlines of Hawaii to the forests of California and the streams in South Carolina.
- Made and donated or distributed over 1,000 masks to help our communities stay well!
- 13 Gordianites volunteered a total of nearly 200 hours as election officials for their communities.
- 20 pints of blood were donated, potentially helping to save 60 lives!
