Greenville, SC – Gordian has been awarded a $1.4 million contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to continue their subscription of RSMeans Data Online Complete Full Library and a $2.9 million, three-year contract from National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) to further enhance and improve NNSA’s asset management systems leveraging RSMeans data.
Gordian has supported Department of Energy’s asset management programs for over 15 years and began supporting NNSA’s implementation of BUILDER™ Sustainment Management System (SMS) in 2018. With this new contract, Gordian will further develop, configure and license industry-standard RSMeans data for construction cost estimating to support BUILDER™ SMS, a web-based software application developed by ERDC’s Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) to help engineers, technicians and managers better understand facilities and infrastructure conditions and performance and plan for repair, restoration and renovation activities. This follow-on contract will focus on supporting linear assets and the development of additional asset-specific cost models. The work will also include further enhancements to the innovative Cost Engine that intersects parametric and granular asset data for the calculation of more accurate Plant Replacement Values (PRVs).
“The Institute for Defense Analyses has identified cost data accuracy to be a significant barrier to realizing the promise of BUILDER as a planning and budgeting tool,” says Mike Bartoli, NNSA Account Manager for Gordian. “Gordian is proud to support NNSA’s important leadership role in the BUILDER community, improving cost inputs and outputs to support visionary goals for facility and infrastructure reporting.”
The VA’s new contract with Gordian specifies continued use of the RSMeans Data Online Complete Full Library, capable of serving up to 800 unique VA users. As part of the contract, VA has committed to sponsoring RSMeans Data Online on Gordian Federal Cloud for a FedRAMP Moderate authorization, enabling VA users to take advantage of innovative enterprise functionality including lifecycle costing, organizational folder hierarchy, work breakdown structure and predictive pricing.
“We are delighted to continue our support of Veteran’s Affairs engineers, facility managers and contracting staff in the maintenance and improvement of hospitals and other facilities to care for our veterans,” says Lisa Cooley, VP of Federal Solutions. “These frontline staff face significant challenges managing aging infrastructure especially in today’s dynamic healthcare environment, and they rely on our cost data to optimize their budgets and plan critical work.”
Gordian’s RSMeans Data Online will provide the VA with localized estimating cost data for labor and material in support of their major construction, minor construction and non-recurring maintenance projects across the United States, as well as supporting the VA’s Strategic Capital Improvement Program. VA has used the RSMeans Data Online since 2010.
